The Environment for Europe Ministerial Conference in Belgrade, October 10-12, 2007


The sixth Environment for Europe Ministerial Conference took place October 10-12, 2007 in Belgrade, Serbia. On this section of the website you can find useful background information about the Belgrade Conference.

  • On the webpage "conference participation", you can find out how participation in the conference was regulated. This webpage also contains additional information on organizational issues.
  • On the webpage "preparatory meetings", all important documents and decisions of meetings held ahead of the Belgrade conference are documented. For some of the preparatory meetings also photographs from the meetings are available.
  • The webpage "conference agenda" offers an up to date overview on the agenda of the Belgrade Conference, as well as links to Category 1 documents (Category 1 documents are documents for possible action by Ministers: signature, endorsement, approval, adoption, discussion).
  • A large number of new documents and reports have been prepared for the Belgrade Conference. On the webpage "conference documents" you can find an up to date list of these documents, including a direct link to view the documents.

  • October 12, 2007: The Ministers and Heads of delegation from 51 countries in the UNECE region and the Representative of the European Commission agreed to undertake a reform of the EfE process in order to ensure that the process remains relevant and valuable.   • October 10, 2007: Education and Environment Ministers of the UNECE region met for the first time in the framework of the Environment for Europe process and, in a joint statement, reaffirmed their commitment for the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in the region.
